About Tokyo again: where home is, how far things are

Home is a big four-bedroom walk-up 8 minutes from JR Koiwa, three stops past Kameido on the same Sobu Line. The front door is on the third floor, up a spiral staircase, no lift. Check-in 4 to 10 PM, checkout 10 AM. Many small places around Koiwa are cash only.

Arrive Tokyo Station. Character Street underground on the Yaesu side, with anime shops in a row. Or Knot in the Shin-Marunouchi Building across the plaza, to design your own watch if you skipped it in Osaka.

Marunouchi Illumination: gold lights along Naka-dori from dusk, plus a Harry Potter holiday event. Free, right by the station.

JR Sobu Line to Koiwa, about 20 minutes, $1.61 (¥253) each: rapid to Shin-Koiwa, then the local one stop. Uber to JR Koiwa Station
